  • GGG Responds to Loot Concerns: How Path of Exile 2 Is Improving Rewards and Gameplay Balance

With the Early Access phase of Path of Exile 2 underway, Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has been quick to POE2 Currency acknowledge and address player feedback—particularly around loot drops and the game’s reward structure. One of the most widespread complaints from the community has centered on the feeling that the game doesn't deliver enough satisfying or worthwhile rewards, especially from rare and unique enemies. In response, GGG is implementing a series of changes that are set to reshape the loot landscape and improve the gameplay experience across the board.

Loot Drops: From Disappointment to Satisfaction

In a recent community post, GGG admitted that the early reward system left many players feeling unrewarded, particularly when battling rare monsters or high-difficulty bosses. Despite their challenge, these encounters often yielded minimal or lackluster drops, creating frustration—especially for players investing time into crafting and earning POE2 Currency.

To address this, GGG is adjusting how rare monsters generate rewards. The rarity bonus granted by rare modifiers is being doubled, while the quantity bonus will increase by 10%. This change means rare enemies—especially those with multiple modifiers—will now drop more loot that’s worth your time. Additionally, the chances of encountering rare monsters with additional modifiers in endgame content will rise, providing more opportunities for valuable loot.

Guaranteed Encounters and Better Boss Rewards

Another welcome change is the introduction of a guaranteed minimum number of rare monsters per map. This ensures that every map run includes multiple chances to score good drops, increasing overall consistency in farming for POE 2 Currency and crafting materials. It also creates a more reliable gameplay loop, which benefits both new and experienced players trying to poe2 trade scale their builds.
